A Humungous Year

OH my, how time flies !!!!

The last 12 months have flown by (at times) in a blur. I'm no longer studying, 2 of my 3 children have jobs and need to be ferried back and forth and we sold our business. I've become excellent at nursing goat kids back from the brink of death, my garden has been renamed OMG and my house....well lets not go there.

Anyhoos, when life is busy squeeze something else in....I'm doing an online BOM from this website http://estheraliu.blogspot.com/ it's pretty cool, all flowers which I happen to love and I'm learning needleturn applique (mostly 'cause I'm a cheapskate :P). There's no photos yet but they're coming.

Wishin that life was going quietly but I'm not sure I'll ever achieve a quiet life.

Not much happening on the sewing or creating front other than chaos and confusion

Any takers for housework ??  Anyone ??

The Latest Craze

Craze or crazy.......hmmm not really sure on that one.

I've gone back to school to see if the local Uni is silly enough to let me in to study nursing!!  Mwahahahahaha.

Hence not much else at the mo.

Blimey Charlie Dry Up Already !!!

All I know for sure is it's wet!!!!!



On the other hand I've figured out why electricity and phones were invented. I reckon I know why the mobile phone was invented also.



Wanna know how I figured it out......well Newton's wife looked out her window and realised the washing wasn't getting dry anytime soon outside not much point in having a clothers dryer without electricity to run it VIOLA electricity is invented. Maybe Bell's wifes dryer blew up and she needed to get another one but they were flooded in......VIOLA her hubby invents the telephone.......fast forward a few more years and Martin Coopers phone stopped working 'cos the rain got into the underground lines and the phone company counldn't fix it until the rain cleared up cos of the flooding VIOLA mobile phones.



See how simple history is.



All ya gotta know is what the catalyst was for all this.

Brick Wall Anyone ???

Would someone like to have my brick wall ?? 

After Christmas and New Years was finished I felt I'd hit a brick wall.  We were busy with school holiday activities such as cleaning the house 'cos it's full of mess monsters, washing clothes-folding clothes 'cos my mess monsters keep changing clothes....now that wouldn't be sooo bad if the clothes they took off weren't so fishy smelling or muddy - I'd like to say dirty but they were actually just muddy.  The washing machine got a great working out and I'm pleased to say that it survived amother set of school holidays.  Aren't kids supposed to get less muddier as they get older not more muddier ???  I thought so.

Anyhoos after we tracked down all of the school books and covered them [there was alot] and rounded up the school bags and found missing shoes, hats and lunch boxes, checked for uniforms I was had it !!!!

Ready for that elusive solo holiday....leave it all behind and relax......well somewhere secluded with nothing to think about, somewhere like this......

Makes ya think doesn't it !!!!

About to become marbled candy cane flavoured yummies

Coloured and flavoured coconut

There's not many cos I ate them

This is just one of the flavours that me and my 'prentice made for our Christmas yummies boxes.  They are candy cane  and definatly my favourites.

The different flavours that we made with the same base recipe were - rum balls, candy cane balls, strawberry, ginger, coconut ice and caramel.

The base recipe was one packet of milk arrowroot bikkies to one can of condensed milk and then we just used different flavourings except - obviously the coconut ice - that actually was coconut ice that I rolled into balls and the caramels that was fudge cooked to just a bit more than soft ball stage and then rolled into balls and rolled in crushed bikkies.  They were yummy but dunno if I'd make them again.

So all of our balls and home made boxes turned into...................

TA DAH !!!!!

OMG I love these.

Our idea was to have little treats for tummies while relaxing in the bath with the cupcake bath bombs and a scented candle and some yummy soaps.  We also included a jar of nuts and bolts [food not shed stuff] for when we are all sugered out.

I unfortunatly didn't take a photo of the finished pretty packs.
